Did you know this crazy fact about Cocaine Bear? Although the movie was inspired in part by a true event in 1985, no bear rampage actually happened, and no such bear attacks were recorded. In reality, the bear immediately dies after ingesting the cocaine dumped from the airplane. The movie's concept was rather inspired by a Reddit post recounting the story, which says that "during the 5 minute window before he died, he was probably the most dangerous apex predator on the continent."
