Oregon Zoo Shares Video of Elephant Enjoying a Swim

The Asian elephants at the Oregon Zoo in Portland celebrated sunny weather with a swim over the weekend.

A video shared by the zoo shows 14-year-old Samudra splashing in his habitat’s large pool and diving under water. Samudra uses his trunk and forelimbs to make huge splashes and waves.

Samudra was born at the zoo in 2008 to parents Rose-Tu and Tusko, and now lives in a herd of five Asian elephants. According to the zoo, the elephants swim 12 months a year.
